GOP Senator Shines Spotlight On Wasteful Federal Spending In 'PORKemon Go' Report
- A Republican senator wants Congress to adopt the winning methods of a popular video game to try and rein in government waste.
Sen. Jeff Flake, R-Ariz., unveiled a budget expose Tuesday at an event sponsored by the Heritage Foundation.
Flake said examples of government overspending are everywhere. In the report, he outlined $5 billion in wasteful use of taxpayer money over the past year.
"The end of the year brings big promises for a new year and an even bigger pile of bills racked up during the season that has just passed," the report states. "This is particularly true in our nation's capital."
